On Tuesday, February 15, the Leland Community Garden (and the Belzoni Community Garden) had some wonderful visitors from WHYHunger. Check out the video for more!
Some of the many volunteers at the first garden workday on Saturday, October 2nd. Everyone took a quick break to pose by the garden’s beautiful entrance sign. That morning the group put up two 150’ rows of berry treslliing, constructed fifteen 6’x12’ wood-framed raised beds, placed mulch in the walking area, and planted a row of squash in the general garden area. Many thanks go out to the Mayor and the City of Leland, members of the community garden committee, the volunteers, and our friend on the city’s front-end loader who transported the dirt into the raised-beds!
